How do giraffes look like?

We all know that the giraffe is an African even-toed ungulate mammal, the tallest living terrestrial animal and the largest ruminant. Its species name refers to its camel-like shape and its leopard-like colouring. Keep reading for more giraffe and giraffe baby information.

Giraffes have incredibly long necks and vary in color from light tan to nearly black. They have markings on their coat that are as individual as a human's fingerprints.

Giraffes are the tallest animals on the planet. The male giraffe grows up to 18 feet and the female giraffe reaches up to 14 feet. Along with a 6 foot long neck, they also have very long legs, that measure up to 6 feet. They have two small horns on the top of their heads that are known as ossicones; the ossicones are covered in hair and are part of the giraffe's skull.
